Calm the Chaos

Navigating the rocky waves of divorce can be beyond challenging but there are especially bigger waves when you are dealing with a high conflict individual.

Does this sound familiar?

"You'll never find anyone better than me."

 "You're crazy."

"No one will ever believe you."

"You won't have any money if you leave me."

"I'll take the kids if you leave me and you won't see them."

"You'll be sorry."

Melanie

Certified High Conflict Divorce and Separation Consultant

After 20 years of marriage, I found myself in a situation I would have never imagined - a high conflict divorce. I had to learn from the ground up. There was no one in my circle that understood what I was going through. It was exhausting, lonely, sad, hard, disappointing and scary. Between my trauma and the divorce proceedings, I felt like it was too much to bear alone. I don't ever want anyone to feel like I did.

You are not alone.

My Process

When you have a clear focus backed by a strategic plan you can start to feel more confident. Regain the power that had been taken from you. The exact process we follow will differ for each individual, as I pinpoint exactly what you need. Together, we will start from wherever you are in your journey and craft a plan to get you where you want to be. Knowing where to focus your energy is key. Once you can do that, you start to feel like the waves aren't crashing down on you. You can start to breathe and keep your head above water.

You have something to hold onto. Land is in sight!

Step 1

Tell me your story

We will start with the basics: a questionnaire. Then we'll move into a personal inventory,  getting organized, setting goals and creating a strategy statement.

This helps me get oriented on where you are in the process and assess your needs.

Step 2

Narrow in on your goals and do a deeper dive

Let's examine where you are at with your team and evaluate if they can help you reach your goals. If you don't have a team, we'll figure out how to build one.

Next, we'll gain a deeper understanding of what a high conflict person looks like and what you are up against in reaching your goals.

Step 3

Let's get perspective

You don't know what you don't know.

So, I'll give you a thorough breakdown of the realities of the Family Court system, and explain the players: Custody Evaluators, Mediators, Pysch Evaluators, Parenting Consultants, Financial professionals, GAL's, and others.
